South Korean white-hat hackers place second and third at Defcon CTF
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency said on Aug. 10 that South Korean team 0x4b52 and South Korea-U.S. joint team SuperDiceCodeLovers placed second and third at the Defcon CTF 34 finals held in Las Vegas from Aug. 6 to 9. A total of 686 teams entered the online qualifiers, with 12 advancing to the finals, including six from South Korea.

Codegate Security Forum launches global fellowship to train AI white-hat hackers
Codegate Security Forum said it will introduce a Global Fellowship, a key project aimed at fostering next-generation AI white-hat hackers. The forum announced the plan on July 27 at the opening ceremony of Codegate 2026 held on July 24. Hancom Group, the event organiser, plans to support the fellowship, including creating scholarships and designing education programmes. The forum plans to recruit the first cohort in September after finalising the curriculum.
