Cybersecurity company Genians said on Sunday it shared the results of its security vulnerability reporting reward programme for the first half of 2026. It said the number of vulnerability submissions rose about 129 percent from a year earlier and reward payouts increased about 1,046 percent.
The security vulnerability reporting reward programme, also called a bug bounty, pays rewards to white hat hackers who find security weaknesses in software or web services.
The company said it has expanded its bug bounty programme since February to cover all products and services. It said it continuously accepts reports from white hat hackers worldwide through its Korean- and English-language official pages. It has focused on managing and disseminating product vulnerabilities in a more systematic and extensive way by linking a special forces security research service with a global community platform.
As part of that, it is implementing security advisory measures by using the 'Security Advisories' feature on the global open-source platform GitHub.
Kim Gye-yeon (김계연), Genians CTO and head of its U.S. unit, said the results go beyond simply finding vulnerabilities and prove the company's defence capabilities to respond pre-emptively to advanced threats in the AI era. He said it will solidify its in-house bug bounty into a global-standard CVD/VDP framework to provide reliable products to customers worldwide and lead the development of the global security ecosystem.
