Trezor says it received report of suspected hardware backdoor in Safe 5 wallets sold by reseller

Cryptocurrency hardware wallet maker Trezor said it received a report that a hardware backdoor was found in its Trezor Safe 5 sold by Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis. The company said the device may work in a way similar to tampered Ledger devices. Trezor said it has not verified the claim directly and has not yet received the device, but judged the report credible after reviewing photos and conducting a video interview. It urged customers who bought devices from CryptoBilis to move assets to a wallet created with a new seed.

Naver\'s Nep Festa offers face-recognition entry and NFT collection

Naver is holding its three-day Nep Festa event in Seoul from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 to extend online Naver Plus Membership benefits into offline experiences. Visitors enter using Naver Pay\'s FaceSign facial recognition service and take part in booth events tracked via QR codes and NFTs issued through the N Pay Wallet. About 50 partner brands are participating. Naver also plans to apply the technologies to Inspire Arena, which will be renamed Naver Arena at Inspire in December.

CFTC chair calls for financial rules redesign for autonomous AI agents

The head of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said financial regulation should be redesigned for an environment in which autonomous AI agents can hold assets and trade directly. CFTC Commissioner Michael Selig said current frameworks assume human traders but must address AI-driven financial activity. He raised questions about accountability when agents act beyond control and suggested an “agent verification” system. He also warned AI-driven trading could amplify market reactions and complicate surveillance.
