Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance will delist 10 margin trading pairs including bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH) at the end of this month. It will also remove 12 spot trading pairs and begin wallet maintenance on the Ethereum network, requiring users to check their trading schedules.

Blockchain media outlet U.Today reported on Oct. 28 that Binance will remove 10 cross-margin trading pairs from Binance Margin on Oct. 30. The pairs are RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U and WLFI/U.

Binance will close positions in those pairs at the time of delisting and carry out automatic settlement. All pending orders will be cancelled, and the pairs will no longer be available for margin trading.

Users must close their positions themselves before trading ends or move related assets from margin accounts to spot accounts. Binance said the delisting process could take about 3 hours, and positions cannot be modified during that period, which could lead to unexpected losses.

Even if a specific trading pair is removed, users can continue trading in that market if other pairs supporting the same assets remain.

Binance will also streamline trading pairs in the spot market. It plans to halt trading in 12 spot pairs on Oct. 30: AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC and XTZ/BTC.

Binance regularly reviews listed spot trading pairs to protect users and maintain market trading quality. It said it may remove some pairs after considering factors such as insufficient liquidity and low trading volume. The latest spot action focuses on pairs that use bitcoin as the base asset.

It will also suspend deposits and withdrawals due to network maintenance. Binance will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals via the Ethereum network starting 5 minutes before it begins wallet maintenance on Oct. 28. The work is expected to take about 1 hour, and deposits and withdrawals will resume once the maintenance is completed.

The range of collateral assets will also be expanded. Binance added five bStocks tokens to eligible collateral assets in Cross Margin, Portfolio Margin and Portfolio Margin Pro. The newly included assets are tokens linked to Vending Spoons, GraniteShares 2x Inverse SK Hynix ETF, GraniteShares 2x Long SK Hynix ETF, GE Vernova and AppLovin.

The steps are notable because trading-pair restructuring, network maintenance and collateral expansion are being carried out at the same time. With BTC and ETH included among the margin pairs set for delisting, investors using those trades need to check the end schedule. The move only removes specific trading pairs, and bitcoin or ethereum themselves are not being delisted from Binance.

Users need to check unfilled orders and margin positions before trading ends on Oct. 30. Those needing deposits or withdrawals via the Ethereum network also need to factor in the temporary suspension period when planning fund transfers.
