Samsung Electronics Service expands data protection, gets ISMS-P certification

Samsung Electronics Service said on Sept. 15 it obtained ISMS-P certification, becoming the first in South Korea’s electronics product service industry to do so. ISMS-P is an integrated information security and personal information protection certification overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission. The company said it expanded its certification coverage in stages, following earlier ISMS certifications and ongoing security training and inspections.

KT wins three top awards in call centre quality index

KT was named the top company in the mobile and broadband internet-IPTV categories of the KS Call Center Quality Index run by the Korean Standards Association, the company said on Tuesday. KT said it marked its 12th consecutive top ranking in mobile and 13th in broadband-IPTV. It also won the AX Contact Center Innovation Award, achieving three awards in total, after being recognised for customer-centre innovation using AI technologies.

BMTC publishes practical guidelines for Korean Sign Language interpretation broadcasts

The Broadcasting Media and Telecommunications Commission said on Aug. 18 it published practical guidelines on Korean Sign Language interpretation broadcasts with the Korea Communications Agency to improve Deaf viewers’ access to broadcasting. The guidelines set three basic principles, tailored guides for interpreters and broadcasters, practical tips by genre, and a feedback system involving stakeholders. Appendices include last-minute checks and emergency-response lists. Key content is also provided via QR-linked sign-language videos.
