Hana Financial Group said on May 7 it began its seventh sign language training course for employees on May 6.

Hana Financial runs regular sign language training for employees in the first and second halves of the year, with about 270 people having participated cumulatively through last year.

In the latest course, employees will learn basic sign language expressions and practical sign language that can be used in daily life during lunch breaks. The training is linked to a volunteer programme at a sports event for people with hearing disabilities.

A Hana Financial Group official said, "We hope the training helps employees understand the difficulties faced by people with hearing disabilities and becomes an opportunity to spread a culture of consideration and inclusion." The official added, "We will continue sincere activities to improve awareness of disabilities."
