KB Kookmin Bank has introduced a mobile video sign language consultation service for customers with hearing impairments. It expanded the consultation channel from dedicated videophones to a mobile app, allowing customers to receive financial consultations on smartphones without separate devices.

KB Kookmin Bank said on Thursday it introduced the "mobile video sign language consultation" service to improve financial access and convenience for people with hearing impairments.

KB Kookmin Bank has provided sign language consultations to customers with hearing impairments through dedicated videophones. With the introduction of the new service, customers can also use sign language consultations on the KB Star Banking mobile app.

Customers with hearing impairments can access the mobile video sign language consultation service in the KB Star Banking app, communicate with a consultation staff member via real-time video and receive financial consultations.

The bank will continue to operate its existing sign language consultation service using dedicated videophones. Customers can choose the more convenient option between the mobile app and the dedicated videophone depending on their environment and situation.

A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "We will continue to expand financial services that reflect the diverse characteristics of financially vulnerable groups and put inclusive finance into practice."
