Fintech industry group calls for public STO use, review of development gains sharing and leasehold loan application

The Korea Fintech Industry Association on April 28 held a forum on building an inclusive digital economy and fostering a sustainable digital asset industry through public tokenised securities (STO) models. Participants said STOs could improve investment access and strengthen transparency through blockchain-based trading. Speakers called for stronger institutional foundations such as investor protection and disclosures. Proposals included linking public development gains to households and tokenising jeonse deposits to improve liquidity.

KB Securities consortium named preferred bidder for Homeplus Yeongdeungpo store purchase

A consortium led by KB Securities was named the preferred bidder for the purchase of the Homeplus Yeongdeungpo store, it said on April 28. The consortium plans to establish a project financing investment vehicle in May and complete procedures for signing the main contract and paying the deposit. It then plans to raise a bridge loan in July to secure ownership and develop apartments on the site after approvals.

Four Pillars raises Series A funding, targets shift to Web3 solutions

Blockchain research and technology company Four Pillars said it raised Series A funding from global investors Pantera Capital and Further Ventures. The round was led by Pantera Capital, a crypto-focused investment firm for institutional clients. Four Pillars said the financing valued the company at about 30 billion won on a post-money basis. It said it will rebrand as a Web3 Solution Company and focus on bridging Asia and global markets, translating between traditional finance and Web3, and expanding beyond research into solutions.
