Europe steps up battle to cut reliance on US big tech as cloud law, political tensions intensify

European governments are expanding efforts to reduce reliance on U.S. software and cloud services and shift to European “sovereign technology.” The trend is linked to concerns over the 2018 U.S. CLOUD Act, which can require U.S. firms to provide access to data stored abroad. Bizplay, Sejung partner to digitise B2B business travel services

Bizplay, a provider of expense management solutions, has signed a business partnership with travel agency Sejung to advance corporate business travel management services, it said on April 28. The two companies will pursue digital transformation across business travel booking and expense processing. They aim to build an integrated environment covering applications, reservations, documentation and after-service management. Cooperation will include supporting Sejung clients’ use of Bizplay’s bzp travel management service and supplying Sejung premium travel products through Bizplay’s platform.

Naver Cloud shares results of pan-government AI common foundation service project

Naver Cloud held a \"Public AX Strategy Seminar\" in Sejong on April 23 and shared results of its pan-government AI common foundation service project. The initiative supports central and local governments in jointly using private-sector AI models, training data, service development tools and GPUs. Naver Cloud technology chief Sung Nak-ho said public-sector AI transformation must secure both speed and trust, with a common platform aimed at improving efficiency and consistency.
