MegazoneCloud, a specialist in AI, cloud and security, said on Wednesday it has obtained Amazon Web Services (AWS) Authorized Government Reseller status, allowing it to supply AWS GovCloud (US) to U.S. public-sector and regulated industry customers.

MegazoneCloud said it plans to use the qualification to expand its AWS business, centred on its U.S. unit, targeting highly regulated markets such as local governments and public institutions, defence and essential critical infrastructure.

It said it will provide technical support across the full process for local customers considering or already using AWS GovCloud (US), from cloud environment design and implementation to migration and operations, to strengthen its business base in the U.S. public and regulated markets.

It also plans to expand support for South Korean companies seeking to enter the U.S. public market. The company said it will support South Korean firms that trade with the U.S. government or aim to enter industries that require high levels of security and regulatory compliance, such as defence, manufacturing and energy, by helping them design, build and operate cloud environments based on AWS GovCloud (US) and supporting cloud infrastructure and security and compliance responses required for entry into the U.S. market.

MegazoneCloud said AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region designed to meet security and compliance requirements demanded by the U.S. government and regulated industries, helping government agencies and customers run sensitive workloads in the cloud.

Jong-chan Kim (김종찬), a leader at MegazoneCloud's Cloud Strategy Unit, said the company has built up security and compliance capabilities by supporting cloud migration and operations for public-sector and regulated industry customers in South Korea and overseas. He said the AWS qualification will allow MegazoneCloud to provide more specialised consulting and implementation and operations services to customers that require high levels of security and regulatory compliance, including the U.S. government, public sector and defence, and to actively expand cloud transformation projects in related industries.
