Science ministry launches pilot projects using homegrown AI chips

South Korea will begin 22 pilot projects using homegrown AI semiconductors in areas including robots, security and urban safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT said. The ministry held a joint kickoff briefing on Aug. 5 for three demonstration programmes, covering AX device development and testing, support for rapid commercialisation of AI applications, and on-device AI service trials and expansion. It will also pursue seven physical AI demonstration tasks through next year.

Ceragem overhauls IoT app, shifts to AI-based personalised health management

Ceragem\'s smartphone healthcare app has shifted from a product control tool to an AI-based health management platform. The company said it has relaunched its IoT application with AI recommendation features. The overhaul includes a full redesign of the user experience, with menus reorganised around seven care categories such as spine care, exercise care and energy care. The app has about 96,000 cumulative downloads.

K Bank expands lifestyle and finance services, offers telecom fee cashback

K Bank has introduced two partnership services focused on everyday spending and personal finance, ranging from cutting telecom costs to searching real estate auction information. The bank launched a telecom plan comparison service offering cashback and an AI-based real estate auction search service. Users can compare 28 budget mobile plans and receive Naver Pay points after setting up automatic payments from a K Bank account. The auction service provides search and analysis features.
