Global AI agent startup Liner will hold an AI agent implementation hackathon for people aged 40 and older.

Liner said on Sunday it will hold the AI agent hackathon ".EXE-THON 2026" and recruit participants through the 11th.

The event is a public-private cooperation program linked to the Ministry of Science and ICT’s “National AI Contest,” which aims to improve the public’s ability to use AI. Liner is organising the event as one of the AI competitions run jointly by the government and private companies.

The theme is “an AI agent that solves work problems you have experienced firsthand.” The goal is to turn experience and work know-how built up in fields such as administration, manufacturing, sales and self-employment into AI services that actually run. Anyone aged 40 and older can participate for free regardless of job function or industry. Participants can enter individually or as a team of up to 3 people.

Participants can develop AI that solves practical problems, including a handover bot that records job know-how for people preparing to retire, an inspection agent that finds mismatches in inventory and shipment data, and a shop response agent that answers inquiries from regular customers.

Liner will provide its platform credits to all teams whose participation is confirmed, allowing them to use application programming interfaces, or APIs, needed for development without cost 부담. There are no restrictions on development languages or the form of the deliverable.

Participants with limited coding experience can use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. They must submit a working deliverable and use at least one of the “Liner Model API” and “Liner Search API·MCP.”

Applications will be accepted online through midnight on the 11th, with the first 200 teams admitted. Teams must submit source code, a demo video of up to 5 minutes and a project proposal by the 25th. Teams that pass the preliminary screening will take part in the final on Dec. 5 at Liner’s headquarters.

One grand prize team will receive the science ministry minister’s award and 5,000,000 won in prize money. One top excellence prize team will receive a special award from the president of the National Information Society Agency and 3,000,000 won. One excellence prize team will receive 1,000,000 won.

Liner CEO Jin-woo Kim (김진우) said, “The person who has done the work for a long time knows best where the work gets stuck and how to solve it.” He added, “I hope this will be an opportunity for seasoned field experts to turn their know-how into AI agents, reduce repetitive tasks and find ways to focus on work that requires experience and judgment.”
