Hecto Data expands remote identity verification services, adds passport recognition support

Hecto Data said on Tuesday it will add passport recognition support to its ID and document OCR services. The company said its ID OCR now supports four types: resident registration cards, alien registration cards, driver\'s licenses and passports. Its document OCR covers corporate registry certificates, corporate seal certificates and business registration certificates for individuals and companies. It also introduced liveness and face-match services and provides its OCR via APIs through a developer center.

KT Japan launches tt mobile MVNO service for Japan long-term stays

KT Japan said on Monday it is launching tt mobile, an MVNO service that allows South Korean customers planning long-term stays in Japan to apply for a Japanese phone number in Korean using only a passport before departure. KT Japan said the launch expands its portfolio beyond corporate telecom services to individual customers such as students, working holiday visitors and expatriates. Customers can receive a USIM in Korea and activate after arriving in Japan.
