Starlink prices in South Korea 1.01 times OECD average, report says
Starlink\'s prices in South Korea are close to the OECD average, a report released on Monday by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) showed. The report put the residential fee at 87,000 won, or $61.16 at the 2025 average exchange rate, 1.01 times the OECD average of $60.59. It said Starlink was commercialised in 37 of 38 OECD countries as of January 2026, excluding Turkey.

South Korea launches task force to review low Earth orbit satellite communications
South Korea has officially launched a task force to secure a low Earth orbit satellite communications network, bringing together relevant ministries, agencies and outside experts. The group will review the feasibility of establishing a domestic network and options for international cooperation. It will examine demand, domestic technological capabilities, costs and economic and non-economic benefits, and operational plans through regular meetings, while running a separate advisory panel of private-sector specialists.
