Steam Deck LCD battery discontinuation risk averted as Valve keeps sales via iFixit
Concerns emerged that official replacement batteries for the Steam Deck LCD model could be discontinued, but Valve decided to keep supply going, allowing users to continue buying official batteries through iFixit. Inventory is expected to be secured from next week. The issue began after iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens said Valve had notified him of a possible halt to battery and display production. Valve later said iFixit would keep receiving the same OEM parts through Valve partners.

Wireless charging uses up to 40% more power than wired, with heat and battery life also factors
Wireless smartphone charging can consume up to 40% more electricity than wired charging, using about 21Wh versus 15Wh to charge a phone from 0% to 100%, Engadget reported. Energy is lost as heat during electromagnetic power transfer and during AC-to-DC conversion. Higher temperatures can accelerate lithium-ion battery degradation. Wider adoption could lift overall power use, while safety and environmental burdens vary by product and usage conditions.

iFixit says MacBook Neo is the easiest MacBook to repair
MacBook Neo is not only Apple’s cheapest MacBook, but has also been rated as the company’s most repairable in 14 years, an assessment said. TechCrunch, citing an in-depth iFixit teardown, said the battery is secured with 18 screws rather than adhesive, making replacement easier. iFixit said the display and keyboard are also easier to replace, and viewed the Repair Assistant feature positively. It gave the device 6 out of 10 for repairability.
