MacBook Neo has been rated as not only Apple’s cheapest MacBook but also its most repairable in 14 years.

TechCrunch on March 14 cited an in-depth iFixit teardown and said the battery, unlike in previous models, is secured with 18 screws instead of adhesive, making it easier to replace.

iFixit said, “Screws are always better than adhesive,” and assessed that the difficulty of replacing the battery has been lowered.

It also found that replacing the display and keyboard has become easier, and analyzed positively that Repair Assistant allows parts replacement.

It flagged as a limitation that the RAM and storage are soldered. iFixit rated MacBook Neo’s repairability at 6 out of 10 and added that it is “a high score among MacBook products.”
