Woori Bank selected as Korea East-West Power R&D bank to integrate research fund management
Woori Bank has been selected as Korea East-West Power\'s dedicated bank for research and development funds and will build an integrated system to manage the entire process from disbursement to supporting documents and settlement. The bank said it signed an agreement with Korea East-West Power on Sept. 10 to build and operate the system. The system, based on W-IRIS, will be built by year-end and applied from new R&D projects next year.

U.S. to impose 15 percent tariff on polysilicon, key material for chips and solar
The United States will introduce minimum import prices and a 15 percent tariff on polysilicon, a key input for semiconductors and solar panels, to curb China-led supply chains and bolster domestic manufacturing. Minimum prices will apply to polysilicon, ingots, wafers, solar cells and modules, with the measures due to take effect on Dec. 4. The White House also allows the Commerce Department to create incentives supporting investment in U.S. production facilities.

SOOP posts Q2 operating profit of 12.6 billion won, to bolster streamer ecosystem, AI and ads
SOOP said it will push a platform overhaul in the second half focused on attracting new streamers and boosting user engagement. The company plans to introduce a system where streamers discover and foster new creators, roll out AI-based UI and UX changes, and build an integrated marketing consulting brand by combining advertising capabilities across affiliates. SOOP reported second-quarter revenue of 103.8 billion won and operating profit of 12.6 billion won, both down from a year earlier.
