Low PBR firms ranked near bottom for 3 years to be disclosed; first list in November

South Korea will for the first time in November disclose a list of listed companies whose price-to-book ratios have stayed near the bottom of their industries for three years. The Financial Services Commission and Korea Exchange set the threshold at the bottom 25 percent for KOSPI and the bottom 10 percent for KOSDAQ, based on semiannual calculations by industry. Firms can receive a one-year exemption if they disclose value-up plans including low-PBR improvements, with limits.
