KB Financial, Bloomberg expand cooperation in global capital markets, link data and technology
KB Financial Group is expanding data and technology cooperation with Bloomberg in global capital markets and asset management, while working to strengthen its overseas client and investor network. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on Sept. 9 at KB Kookmin Bank\'s new building in Seoul\'s Yeouido, KB Financial said on Sept. 10. The partnership will also seek additional cooperation on data governance and digital transformation.

Loan curbs keep volume caps but widen exemptions for housing supply funds
South Korea’s financial authorities are splitting real estate finance policy into household loan volume caps and support for housing supply. They plan to keep overall household loan management by financial firms, while exempting funds needed for housing supply, youth housing stability and end-user demand. August household loans rose 2.6 trillion won, down from July, but mortgage lending increased. Authorities will also ease some PF capital ratio rules for housing projects and expand supply-related funds.

FSS union warns relocation outside Seoul could trigger exodus of specialists; 1,720 sign petition
The Financial Supervisory Service labour union submitted a petition to President Lee Jae-myung opposing plans to relocate the agency and other public financial institutions outside Seoul. The petition was signed by 1,720 employees. The union said Seoul’s financial hub benefits from clustering and warned greater physical distance between institutions could weaken industry competitiveness. It also cited a staff survey showing many specialists may leave and raised concerns about consumer access.
