Thailand reviews rules on overseas crypto derivatives, may lower barriers for retail investors

Thailand\'s securities regulator is reviewing a plan to allow retail investors to access certain overseas digital asset derivatives that meet set criteria. The regulator is discussing a framework enabling brokers to offer some crypto derivatives listed abroad, subject to reviews of contract structures and trading-market conditions. Overseas markets would need central clearing and oversight by regulators belonging to specified international bodies. A public consultation runs until Sept. 30, and the implementation date is not set.
