Naphtha up 68 percent, ethylene up 61 percent as March producer prices post biggest rise in 4 years
South Korea’s producer prices rose at their fastest pace in nearly four years in March as international oil prices surged in the aftermath of the Iran war. The producer price index climbed 1.6 percent from February to 125.24, the biggest monthly rise since April 2022, and extended gains for a seventh straight month. Oil products and chemical items jumped, while farm and fisheries products fell and services were flat.

South Korea\'s ruling and opposition parties agreed on April 10 to keep the government\'s 26.2 trillion won supplementary budget while adjusting some projects. They decided to maintain the government plan to pay up to 600,000 won per person to those in the bottom 70 percent by income under a high oil price relief programme. The parties agreed to add funds for K-Pass discounts, naphtha supply stabilisation and several fuel-linked subsidies, and planned a late-night vote.

Toyota adds standard anti-theft and safety features to Land Cruiser 250 gasoline model
Toyota has partially updated the gasoline model of its cross-country SUV, the Land Cruiser 250, and significantly strengthened anti-theft and safety features. The company made key functions previously offered as options standard equipment. Additions include a smart key distance measurement system and the T-Connect remote engine shutoff function, which requires a paid connected-service subscription. Safety upgrades include front cross-traffic warning. Toyota said diesel-model improvements are expected after December.
