YouTube is the video and music application used the longest by South Koreans, a Wiseapp-Retail survey showed. The survey of Android and iOS smartphone users found YouTube logged an average 113.6 billion minutes a month in January to May 2026. Netflix followed with 5.61 billion minutes, ahead of YouTube Music, Melon and Spotify. YouTube, YouTube Music and Spotify rose steadily over four years, with Spotify up 1,200 percent.

LG Uplus said it will launch a bundled plan called \"YouTube Premium+Google AI Pro\" on June 2, allowing customers to use a video service and a generative AI service under one fee. The plan links a generative AI subscription with ad-free YouTube viewing. It includes YouTube Premium at no extra cost on top of Google AI Pro’s 29,000 won monthly fee, about 34 percent cheaper than subscribing separately.
