SK Telecom launched a new 'YouTube Premium Lite' product on its subscription services platform T Verse.
On May 26, SKT introduced a T Verse plan that allows users to subscribe to YouTube Premium Lite on a standalone basis for 7,900 won a month, at a discounted price compared with the regular price. YouTube Premium Lite lets users watch most videos without interruptions from ads. It also supports offline saving and background playback. It does not support YouTube Music.
SKT is running a 1+1 promotion to mark the launch of T Verse YouTube Premium Lite. Subscribers to the standalone plan will not be billed for the second month through June 30.
Seung-ha Lee (이승하), SKT's product chief, said the company enabled customers to use YouTube, which they often enjoy in daily life, at a more reasonable price through T Verse. He said the company would continue to expand subscription products on T Verse that provide customers with tangible benefits and convenience.
