YouTube Music ranked No. 1 among music streaming apps most used by South Koreans last year.
A 2025 music streaming app survey released on Monday by app and retail analytics service Wiseapp Retail showed YouTube Music had an average of 9.8 million monthly users.
Melon ranked second with 6.34 million users, followed by Spotify with 3.85 million, Genie Music with 2.57 million and Flo with 1.73 million. SoundCloud had 1.17 million users and Naver Vibe had 810,000.
Spotify led on return rate, unlike user totals. The return rate, the share of November users who returned in December, was highest for Spotify at 82.3 percent. That was up 14.6 percentage points from the same month a year earlier.
Melon and Genie Music each posted 81.4 percent to tie for second. Naver Vibe stood at 80 percent, SoundCloud at 75.2 percent, Flo at 74.5 percent and YouTube Music at 74 percent. Return rates for major apps all rose from the same month a year earlier.
Wiseapp Retail conducted the survey using a sample of South Korean Android and iOS smartphone users, excluding smartphone makers' apps.
