Park Se-woong appointed 11th president of ETRI, highlights AI, DX vision

Park Se-woong (박세웅), a professor at Seoul National University, has taken office as the 11th president of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). ETRI held an inauguration ceremony on May 20 at its auditorium. Park presented a vision of opening a warm world through AI and digital transformation innovation. He said ETRI will serve as a full-cycle AI and ICT R&D platform and drive sustainable growth based on human-centred values.

Apple to unveil macOS 27; five AI features to watch including next-generation Siri

Apple plans to unveil macOS 27 within weeks, built around a sweeping AI push and design changes, including an overhauled Siri and automated Safari tab organisation. The company will end operating system support for four older Intel-based Mac models, making the new system compatible only with Macs using Apple Silicon chipsets. New features include a chatbot-style Siri interface, AI photo-editing tools, natural-language shortcut creation, and refinements to the Liquid Glass design with touch optimisation.

Naver Cloud aims to be \'salt-like\' AI infrastructure company in global market

Naver Cloud plans to target the global business-to-business market by leveraging its capabilities in operating AI infrastructure, aiming to meet rising demand in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan and Europe. CEO Kim Yu-won said competition in AI is shifting from models to infrastructure and that competitiveness requires combining models, GPUs, cloud, data centres, security and service application capabilities. The company will pursue customised AI infrastructure and expand work with Dell Technologies.
