Redbrickhouse raises investment from Kakao Ventures to support indie games\' global expansion
Indie game publisher Redbrickhouse said on Monday it has raised financial investment from Kakao Ventures and other investors. Participants include Devsisters Ventures, SmartStudy Ventures, MainStreet Ventures and Zion Investment. The company said it has secured financial backers after earlier attracting strategic investment from Wemade Max. Founded in June, Redbrickhouse said it supports game development, publishing and investment, and aims to help small teams strengthen global distribution capabilities.

Wemade Max said on Monday it made a strategic investment in South Korean indie game publisher Redbrickhouse and set up a cooperation framework to discover promising developers and secure new intellectual property. It said the move aims to broaden partnerships with creative studios as indie games with distinctive gameplay become more competitive globally. Redbrickhouse was founded by former Neowiz specialists and supports development, global services and IP expansion.

Wemade Max said its development direction and plans for key projects will not change despite a change in Wemade\'s largest shareholder. CEO Son Myeon-seok told employees that while the shift in governance is significant, the company’s role will remain and become more important within the group.
