Wemade Max said on Wednesday it is revamping its development structure to respond to changes in the global game market and strengthen competitive development capabilities. It is expanding the adoption of artificial intelligence-based development and work environments as it builds a next-generation game development setup.

Wemade Max is reviewing the roles of its development organisations and project strategies as competition in the global game market intensifies around large projects and game quality and development efficiency emerge as key competitive factors. It is reorganising its development structure to focus capabilities on core projects.

As a key example, Mir5 is overhauling its development system to raise project quality around core development capabilities. It is also advancing the long-accumulated Mir intellectual property for the global market environment and strengthening competitiveness. The new title Project T is also reviewing its development strategy and restructuring development capabilities to boost project competitiveness.

The live-service title Mir4 is a core title that continues to deliver results in global markets. The company plans to keep strengthening development and operations capabilities to ensure stable service operations and bolster content competitiveness.

It is also continuing to expand development and operations staffing for global PC and console projects to strengthen competitiveness. Midnight Walkers, currently available on Steam, is continuing to stabilise service operations and upgrade content by adding new staff and communicating with global users.

It plans to strengthen next-generation game development competitiveness by expanding development headcount around new projects. They include the triple-A-class Project TAL, which it described as a highly anticipated global title, the mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game Night Crows 2 (tentative), and the subculture-genre title MO TF.

The reorganisation is intended to raise project competitiveness and development efficiency at the same time through the strategic redeployment of development personnel, it said. It is also pushing to build a next-generation development environment by expanding adoption of AI-based development tools and automation technology to raise development efficiency and content quality.

To strengthen development competitiveness, Wemade Max has been introducing various generative AI tools across the company since last year and using them for game development research and internal work. It aims to keep raising development efficiency and collaborative productivity to respond to global markets.

Wemade Max Chief Executive Son Myeon-seok (손면석) said, "As the global game market environment changes rapidly, game quality and development efficiency are becoming important competitive factors." He added, "We will review our development strategy and concentrate capabilities on core projects to present competitive games in the global market."
