Wemade Max said on Monday it will switch to a sole CEO structure under Son Myeon-seok (손면석).

The change is intended to strengthen execution of its strategy, announced at the start of the year, to become a “2026 global portfolio company”. Wemade Max has built a distributed growth structure by genre, platform and region based on five core studios. It plans to speed decision-making on key intellectual property and strategic projects.

Lee Gil-hyeong (이길형) will step down from the co-CEO structure, remain a member of Wemade Max’s board and focus on managing subsidiary Lightcon. Lightcon is preparing new titles based on the “Windrunner” IP and a roguelike project. It plans to pursue project structure efficiency and optimise organisational operations in parallel.

Wemade Next CEO Park Jung-soo (박정수) will resign. The company appointed Seong Jeong-guk (성정국), a development director overseeing development of “Mir5”, as the new CEO of Wemade Next. Seong previously served as producer-director for “Mir4” and has led development of the Mir IP. “Mir5” is reviewing its development direction and advancing its strategy work.

Wemade Max is pursuing its global portfolio strategy based on five core studios: Mad Engine, Wemade Connect, Wemade Next, One Way Ticket Studio and Lightcon.

Mad Engine is developing the open-world action RPG “Project TAL”, the MMORPG “Night Crows 2 (tentative title)”, and the subculture genre title “MO TF”. Wemade Connect is preparing new subculture titles including “Make Drama: MAD”, “Hundred Note” and “Noah”.

Son said, “This shift is meant to boost strategic execution by strengthening accountable management and realigning roles.” He added, “We will maintain each studio’s autonomy and expertise while strengthening competitiveness centred on key IP and strategic projects.”
