Supermicro starts shipping Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 rack, supplying units with 1,152 GPUs
Supermicro said on Sept. 29 it has started shipping Nvidia\'s Vera Rubin NVL72 rack that integrates its data center building block solution DCBBS and direct liquid cooling technology stack DLC-2. The company said it will take orders and supply the rack in scalable units. Each unit supports 1,152 GPUs and 331TB of HBM4 memory. It also said it tests and validates racks with the liquid cooling system integrated to shorten deployment time.

Cisco, Nvidia add Supermicro servers to Secure AI Factory
Cisco will add Supermicro servers to the Secure AI Factory it operates with Nvidia, tech publication Techzine reported on Aug. 25. The first shipment is scheduled for October. The added system uses a high-density GPU configuration and allows companies to run AI clusters and non-AI workloads in the same environment. Cisco also introduced rack-and-fabric liquid cooling combining its liquid-cooled AI networking system with Supermicro liquid-cooled servers.

SpaceXAI to adopt Nvidia \'Vera\' CPU at scale, build orbital AI system by 2027
SpaceXAI will adopt Nvidia\'s AI CPU Vera at scale and plans to place an AI system designed to run in space into orbit in 2027. Nvidia said the move will accelerate development of next-generation agent-based AI workloads, and SpaceXAI also plans to expand its AI infrastructure used for Grok processing with Vera Rubin systems. The companies aim to optimise a Vera Rubin NVL72-based system for space and load it onto the Starmind satellite.
