[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Dell Technologies said on Tuesday it has made a major update to its Dell AI Data Platform with NVIDIA product lineup. The update focuses on strengthening enterprise data discovery and use and delivering high-performance storage for AI applications and autonomous AI agents.
The company said AI is evolving from an assistant tool into a system that operates autonomously, but meaningful results require accessible, reliable and usable data. It said many companies struggle to structure data dispersed across silos and face difficulties securing a business perspective or building governance. As a result, AI projects could be halted or corporate competitiveness weakened.
With this in mind, Dell Technologies teamed up with NVIDIA to introduce Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, and the updated Dell AI Data Platform with NVIDIA is included in it.
A key part of the update to the NVIDIA-based Dell AI Data Platform is the Dell Data Orchestration Engine, built on technology from Dataloop, which Dell recently acquired.
The Dell Data Orchestration Engine is a no-code and low-code engine that automatically discovers, labels, refines and converts structured, unstructured and multimodal data to create large, governance-applied datasets for AI. It combines automated pipelines, dynamic learning and human-in-the-loop (HITL) workflows to continuously improve data quality and model accuracy.
Through the Data Orchestration Engine Marketplace, users can deploy production-level data workflows without building from scratch, using a library that includes NVIDIA NIM microservices, NVIDIA AI Blueprints and more than 200 models, applications and templates.
Dell Technologies said the update also supports the latest NVIDIA AI-Q blueprint. It said this will help companies build customised AI agents.
Dell Technologies said it also plans to support NVIDIA STX, a new modular reference design based on next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72, NVIDIA BlueField-4 DPU and NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking.
An AI Assistant added to the Dell Data Analytics Engine provides a natural-language conversational interface for SQL analysis environments.
Dell Technologies said it has also updated its storage lineup, taking into account the growing importance of storage as AI expands from the experimental stage to deployment in real operating environments.
Dell Lightning File System is a parallel file system that delivers up to 150GB per second per rack. Dell Exascale Storage is a 3-in-1 storage system for ultra-large-scale AI and HPC, allowing flexible deployment of Dell file storage, object storage and parallel file system storage software on the latest Dell PowerEdge servers.
Kyung-jin Kim (김경진), head of Dell Technologies Korea, said, "The biggest challenge when scaling AI pilots to real operating environments is that each company’s proprietary information is trapped in data silos." He said, "NVIDIA-based Dell AI Factory automates the entire data lifecycle and provides performance suitable for the massive scale required by AI." Kim said, "Through cooperation between Dell and NVIDIA, customers can build AI environments faster, scale freely and achieve tangible results. Dell, together with NVIDIA, is redefining the standards that enterprise AI infrastructure must meet."
