Coinbase rises to No. 3 on XRP rich list after address reclassification

Coinbase\'s XRP balance jumped 4,870.7 percent on the rich list, but it did not receive 5.5 billion new tokens, the article said. The change resulted from a reclassification after XRP ledger explorer XRPScan updated its wallet identification system and labeled 146 previously unidentified Coinbase wallets. Coinbase is now ranked third with 5.68 billion XRP across 152 accounts. Ripple remains first, while Upbit is second and Binance fourth.

21Shares said claims that Ripple directly controls XRP and the XRP Ledger are not true, citing the network’s validator structure. It said the default trusted validator list includes about 35 validators, with only 1 operated by Ripple, and more than 150 validators participate overall. Protocol changes require support from at least 80 percent of validators. 21Shares added that Ripple remains a key firm in the XRP ecosystem and holds billions of XRP in escrow.

Solana to triple transaction capacity on Sept 9, narrowing gap with Ethereum

Solana will launch a new transaction format, TransactionV1, to expand per-transaction capacity from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, more than tripling the limit, CoinPost reported. The change enables processing of large cryptographic proofs and multi-signature transfers in a single transaction, while legacy formats continue to work. Software that reads blocks and transactions must support the new format. Solana is also preparing the AlpenGlow upgrade to cut finality to about 150 milliseconds and plans further rent fee and slot-time changes.
