SK AX steps up full-stack robot transformation services for manufacturing

SK AX said on Wednesday it is stepping up a full-stack Robot Transformation service to help manufacturers achieve operational innovation through robot adoption. The service provides one-stop support across all stages, from virtual validation before deployment to on-site autonomous control and integrated operation of entire factories. It uses a digital twin to model factory layouts and processes, and applies a VLA-based physical AI. SK AX is expanding from semiconductors to shipbuilding.

China\'s AI2 Robotics, XSquare Robot raise funding at $2.8 billion valuations

China\'s AI2 Robotics and XSquare Robot have raised investment after being valued at more than 50 billion yuan, or about $2.8 billion, each, SiliconANGLE reported on Sunday, citing Bloomberg. AI2 Robotics raised about $735 million in the round. The size of XSquare Robot\'s investment was not disclosed. AI2 Robotics develops general-purpose intelligent robots and its own vision-language-action model. XSquare Robot is known for its WaiAI model and Quanta series wheeled humanoids.

Game makers expand AI strategy from production efficiency to physical AI

Korean game companies are expanding their artificial intelligence strategies beyond improving game production efficiency into physical AI, increasing cooperation with outside firms in robotics, autonomous driving, defence, manufacturing and shipbuilding. NC AI is focusing on a world model to narrow the simulation-to-real gap and has won national projects and industry contracts with Hyundai Rotem, POSCO DX and Hanwha Ocean. Krafton is pairing its AI software with industrial data partners, joining projects with Hanwha Aerospace and Socar.
