Qualcomm adds first dedicated AI core to Adreno GPU

Qualcomm has added a dedicated core for artificial intelligence calculations to its GPU for the first time. On Sept. 2 it unveiled an updated architecture for the Adreno GPU used in its next-generation premium platform and introduced an AI-based rendering technology called Adreno Neural Fusion. Qualcomm said it confirmed a 12 percent improvement from the architecture and will disclose detailed GPU performance figures at this month’s Snapdragon Summit.

NC AI launches VARCO Sound generative audio platform with AI agent

NC AI has launched VARCO Sound, a generative AI audio platform that lets users create and edit sound through natural-language conversation. The company added a new sound agent that runs generation and editing tools based on text commands. It also strengthened audio transformation and video-based sound generation, providing results as multitrack files. NC AI released a desktop app and a Unity plugin to connect with production workflows.

Unity releases Unity 6.6 to improve development and build speeds

Unity has officially released Unity 6.6, updating development workflows, content management and graphics performance. It is the last non-long-term support version ahead of Unity 6.7 LTS due in the fourth quarter, and includes key components of a new coreCLR. The release adds Fast Enter Play Mode, a new Content Directory, expanded build analysis, 2D and graphics features, UI updates, broader platform support including WebGPU, and new security signing for .unitypackage files.
