Xpeng unveils VLA 2.0, bets on human-like driving feel
Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng introduced its VLA 2.0 autonomous driving system, highlighting human-like driving judgments and rapid localisation. It said its in-house Turing AI chip and simulation-based training enable more natural driving than rule-based approaches. Xpeng said the system anticipates road situations and makes context-aware decisions. It also said the new GX offers up to 3,000 TOPS and processes more data inside the vehicle. The company said it can adapt abroad without HD maps or rewriting rules.

OpenAI nearly named Freemind in Musk plan to check Google
Court documents show Elon Musk and Sam Altman considered naming their company Freemind before founding OpenAI, and discussed building an AI organisation to respond to Google DeepMind. Emails submitted as evidence include Musk’s view that the name would signal a philosophical counterweight to DeepMind and that digital intelligence should be freely available. Altman initially said the name was too similar to DeepMind but later warmed to it.

Turing supplies math data to participants in Korea\'s Dokpamo project
Reasoning AI agent developer Turing said on Tuesday it is supplying high-quality math data to major companies taking part in the government\'s Indigenous AI Foundation Model Project, known as Dokpamo. It is providing more than 300,000 selected questions accumulated through its math services, covering elementary, middle and high school ranges and supporting multimodal AI training with image-based items. The company said it offers rental and purchase options and can customise difficulty and formats.
