Thailand\'s Supreme Court says bitcoin is property, not money, clarifies legal status
Thailand\'s Supreme Court has recognised bitcoin as property under criminal law, a decision that clarifies legal standards applied to holding and trading cryptocurrencies in the country. The court said bitcoin can be the subject of property crimes but is not legal tender. It distinguished between money used to settle debts and property that can be held and transferred. The ruling stems from a 2022 robbery case involving forced transfer of bitcoin.

Samsung SDI Q3 operating profit 407.8 billion won swings to profit from a year ago
Samsung SDI swung to an operating profit of 407.8 billion won in the third quarter as sales of energy storage systems for AI data centres increased. Third-quarter revenue rose 52.6 percent from a year earlier to 46.856 trillion won, and the operating margin was 8.7 percent. Battery division revenue climbed 55.3 percent to 44.099 trillion won and posted an operating profit of 361.9 billion won.

Kim Dong-seon expands Hanwams tender offer to 26.20 million shares
Kim Dong-seon (김동선), head of future strategy at Hanwha Machinery and Service Holdings (Hanwha M&S), will increase the number of shares in a tender offer by 10.14 million. The total targeted amount will be 26.20 million common shares, about 31 percent of Hanwha M&S shares. The offer price remains 8,000 won per share and the offer period stays Oct. 12 to Nov. 2. The increase followed subscription intentions by related parties.
