Fox to buy Roku for $22 billion, combining news, sports and streaming
Fox will acquire Roku in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about $22 billion. The boards of both companies have already approved the transaction, TechCrunch reported on Sunday. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027. Fox aims to combine Fox News, its sports channels, its free ad-supported streaming service Tubi and Roku’s connected TV platform, seeking to expand its advertising precision and reduce reliance on traditional broadcasting.

Claude ranks second in South Korea\'s generative AI app revenue - Sensor Tower
Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude has risen to second place in South Korea’s generative AI app market, overtaking Google’s Gemini, according to Sensor Tower. Through early June, Claude ranked second by revenue among iOS generative AI apps in South Korea and first in revenue growth. It hit a record daily revenue of about $104,000 on May 5. Sensor Tower said the increase may have come from existing users converting to paid subscriptions or upgrading plans.

Broadcast Media Communications Commission launches second call for SME TV ad support of up to 45 million won
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Thursday it has opened a second call for applications for its broadcast advertising production support programme for small and medium-sized enterprises, with submissions accepted through June 1. The programme will select 2 innovative SMEs for TV advertising support, providing up to 45 million won within 50 percent of production costs. It also offers professional marketing consultations covering planning, production and use of broadcast advertising.
