Broadcast Media Communications Commission launches second call for SME TV ad support of up to 45 million won
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Thursday it has opened a second call for applications for its broadcast advertising production support programme for small and medium-sized enterprises, with submissions accepted through June 1. The programme will select 2 innovative SMEs for TV advertising support, providing up to 45 million won within 50 percent of production costs. It also offers professional marketing consultations covering planning, production and use of broadcast advertising.

Broadcast Media Communications Committee to support ad production costs for 23 SMEs
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Committee selected 23 small and medium-sized companies for the first round of its 2026 broadcast advertising production support programme. The committee will cover up to 50 percent of TV ad production costs, capped at 45 million won, and up to 70 percent of radio ad production costs, capped at 3 million won. It also offers customised consulting. A separate selection for small merchants is due in April.

Netflix faces infrastructure test as it expands live streaming
Netflix, a leading video streaming service, is aggressively targeting the market for live event broadcasts including sports, raising attention on the infrastructure needed to support them. The Wall Street Journal reported Netflix has aired more than 200 live events since March 2023, with some suffering streaming disruptions. Netflix is upgrading infrastructure for live streaming and runs a live operations centre in California, with plans to add sites in Britain and Asia by 2026.
