Ethereum net outflows from exchanges jump to four-month high

Ethereum saw its largest net outflow from centralized exchanges in about 4 months, with roughly 169,770 ether leaving in a day, Santiment said. The move has raised expectations of a rebound as potential sell supply on exchanges may decline. Analysts cautioned the withdrawals alone do not confirm accumulation or a price bottom. Switzerland opens bitcoin spot ETF to retail investors, tightens protection requirements

Swiss financial regulators have approved a bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund for retail investors for the first time, CoinPost reported. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, FINMA, said it had approved the listing of a spot ETF that invests directly in bitcoin, though the fund name and manager were not disclosed. FINMA stressed the product remains high-risk and said it would strengthen investor protection, including clearer risk disclosure, conduct rules and stricter suitability assessments.

Galaxy Research flags ETF outflows and slower corporate buying as factors in bitcoin weakness

Bitcoin’s weakness since the start of October has been driven by spot ETF outflows and a slowdown in buying by companies that hold bitcoin as a treasury asset, Galaxy Research executive Alex Thorn said. Galaxy’s indicator comparing institutional absorption with early-holder distribution showed net supply has been dominated by coins moving after five years of inactivity. ETF and corporate buying supported flows in March and April, but since May outflows and long-term holder selling have pushed monthly flows negative.
