Samsung Electro-Mechanics, LG Innotek face off over next-generation substrates at KPCA

Samsung Electro-Mechanics and LG Innotek are unveiling new semiconductor package substrate technologies at KPCA Show 2026 in Incheon from Sept. 9 to 11. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is exhibiting five items including 2.5D and 2.1D package substrates, glass substrates and automotive FCBGA. LG Innotek is debuting an AI accelerator FC-BGA and plans mass production of high value-added FC-BGA for AI training and inference in 2027. Both are accelerating glass substrate development.

National Radio Research Agency to hold global ICT testing and certification conference

South Korea\'s National Radio Research Agency will hold the 2026 Global ICT Testing and Certification Conference in Incheon through Sept. 4. The event will bring together government officials, testing and certification bodies, and industry and academic experts from 19 countries including South Korea, the United States, Canada, India, Japan, Vietnam and Sweden. Participants will discuss national systems and policy trends, responses to AI and new ICT technologies, conformity assessment and technical regulation, cybersecurity, and digital convergence technologies.

MSIT opens Incheon ICT Complex to build AI, software talent hub

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT on Monday held an opening ceremony for the Incheon ICT Complex at the Korea Teachers\' Credit Union\'s Incheon Hall. The facility aims to train practical AI and software talent needed by regional industries and support companies\' AI transformation. It will lend equipment and servers for AI and software development and testing and run education, community spaces, networking events and job and start-up support programs.
