Latham & Watkins buys Nvidia GPU servers to build and fine-tune AI models
U.S. law firm Latham & Watkins has bought Nvidia GPU servers and started fine-tuning AI models, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. The firm is seen as the first major law firm to purchase its own AI hardware and fine-tune models. Engineers are adapting existing open-weight AI models to the firm’s needs. Apple extends free satellite connectivity for older iPhones by one year; new camera features limited to latest models
Apple will provide older iPhone users with another year of free satellite connectivity, extending the free period for the iPhone 14, 15 and 16 series. The company has not disclosed whether the service will become paid or what fees would be after the free period ends. In contrast, newly introduced advanced camera features announced at the event will be available only on the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo, excluding earlier models including the iPhone 17 series.
