AI-era security requires firms to rewrite software code so agents can patch, Jassy says

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said companies should rewrite almost all software code so agents can handle it, because AI models can find far more vulnerabilities than humans. He said current processes, in which people classify flaws and create patches, cannot keep pace with the speed of AI discovery due to complex system dependencies. Jassy said patch deployment must be completed within minutes and warned firms without agent-updatable applications will struggle.

Children unleash imagination with AI as science ministry holds finals of 2026 AI creation contest

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT on Friday held the finals of the 2026 AI Creation Contest at the Kakao AI Campus. Launched for the first time this year, the contest is a key programme under the National AI Competition and targets young children and elementary school students. Participants create fairy tales, children’s songs and webtoons using AI tools provided by four domestic companies.

Two South Korean experts win roles in APEC ICT steering groups to expand cooperation

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Friday that two South Korean experts were elected to key posts in the operating groups under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation telecommunications and information working group. Jang Ju-dong was elected secretary of the Conformance and Interoperability Steering Group, and Park Jung-eun was elected deputy secretary of the Digital Economy Steering Group. Their terms run for two years from 2027 to 2028.
