South Korea’s KOSPI snapped a three-session slide to end slightly higher on July 9, lifted by a more than 5 percent jump in SK Hynix a day ahead of its U.S. ADR listing. The index closed up 0.62 percent, after opening sharply higher and swinging widely during the session. Foreigners and institutions were net buyers, while individuals sold. The Kosdaq also rose but failed to regain 800.

The KOSDAQ also edged up but remained below 800 after breaking that level a day earlier. The won strengthened against the dollar.

Foreign investors were net buyers in the main board, while individuals and institutions sold. Most heavyweight shares fell, including Samsung Electronics and SK hynix. The won strengthened, with the dollar-won rate down 15.90 won.
