Altibase, SherpaSoft cooperate on AI-based database technology

Altibase and SherpaSoft said on Wednesday they will cooperate on AI-based database management technology. The companies will link Altibase\'s hybrid DBMS with SherpaSoft\'s AI performance management solution, Sherpa AI, to jointly build an AI-based integrated database operations environment. They said this will support functions ranging from database performance analysis to SQL tuning. SherpaSoft said the solution supports both open and closed networks to maintain in-house security.

Synology launches DP5200 backup appliance with AI-based security, support for large workloads

Synology said on Tuesday it has launched the 1U ActiveProtect Appliance DP5200 and expanded its ActiveProtect lineup targeting data-protection demand from small and medium-sized businesses. The company said the DP5200 combines workload management and AI-based security features in a compact design. It supports up to 36TB and includes ActiveProtect Manager enterprise backup functions. It supports virtualisation platforms, physical infrastructure, SaaS apps and databases, with additional platforms to be added in APM 2.0.

Google AI Studio opens free app publishing without payment method with Starter Tier

Google has introduced a Starter Tier in AI Studio that allows users to publish apps without registering a payment method or billing account. Previously, app deployment required creating a Google Cloud project and setting up billing. With Starter Tier, Google automatically creates the cloud project and handles region selection, API activation and security policies. The tier has no time limit but restricts regions and resources and caps deployments at 2 apps. Eligibility is limited to personal Google accounts.
