Webcash to develop, test finance-focused AI agent with LG AI Research

Webcash will use LG AI Research’s artificial intelligence (AI) model K-EXAONE to develop AI agents tailored to corporate cash management and financial institutions’ management information work. It plans to link its own technology, OPERIA, with K-EXAONE to verify applications in the financial sector.

Webcash said on Tuesday it will join a consortium led by LG AI Research to develop and test finance-task AI agents under a “standalone AI foundation model” project.

The standalone AI foundation model project is a national initiative promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) to boost the competitiveness of domestic AI models and expand the AI ecosystem. LG AI Research is advancing the model and applying it in industrial settings based on K-EXAONE, which it developed.

Webcash is participating in the project using expertise accumulated in corporate cash management and its financial AI technology. It plans to connect OPERIA with K-EXAONE to develop AI agents for corporate cash management and financial institutions’ management information systems.

OPERIA is an intelligent relational database (RDB) connector that automatically converts questions entered in natural language into SQL queries to extract required data. It can link with multiple large language models (LLMs).

Webcash is expanding its financial AI business for financial institutions, public institutions and companies based on OPERIA, including a cash management agent, agent banking, AI MIS, fiscal AX and Gyeongri365.

Webcash CEO Won-joo Kang (강원주) said, “We will contribute to expanding the domestic AI ecosystem by combining K-EXAONE and Webcash’s financial AI technology.”
