The Korea Display Industry Association shared financial support measures for the sector to respond to supply chain instability stemming from the Middle East. It held a briefing in Seoul attended by more than 100 panel and materials, parts and equipment companies. Agenda items included the Supply Chain Stabilisation Fund, the National Growth Fund to be launched this year, export insurance and credit guarantees, and advance review of tax credits. The association also set up a supply chain response centre.

South Korea\'s three battery makers are expected to post losses in the first quarter, as weak conditions in automotive batteries and a transition toward energy storage systems weigh on results. Securities industry estimates point to operating losses at LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI and SK On. Analysts also flag a domestic production promotion tax credit, expected to take shape in a July tax revision plan, as a potential variable for profitability in the second half.
