KT unveils 6G blueprint to drive AX with intelligent networks
KT presented its blueprint for the next-generation 6G era, aiming to build an integrated infrastructure that links its technology and operational know-how. At an MWC26 briefing in Barcelona, Lee Jong-sik (이종식) outlined a 6G vision for the AI era and core technology directions. KT highlighted 3D coverage across land, sea and air, supercell technology for disaster recovery, quantum-safe security, and autonomous network operations using AI-based models, digital twins and AI agents.

KT develops fastest domestic quantum key distribution device, generates 300,000 keys per second
KT said on Monday it developed an in-house quantum key distribution device that can generate 300,000 encryption keys per second. It said the equipment can prevent eavesdropping attempts on physical lines because encryption keys cannot be copied due to quantum mechanical properties. KT said it more than doubled the key generation rate in 18 months, and carried out technical verification with domestic development and certification bodies.

Quantum era accelerates; could it overhaul security framework?
South Korea has released its first pan-government quantum master plan, prompting attention to whether quantum technology could fundamentally change the national security framework. A science ministry plan includes a roadmap to apply quantum technology to national cryptographic systems and build an “ultra-secure” information network. The article outlines quantum computing concepts and two security approaches: quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography. The government plans to complete PQC algorithm standardisation early next year and expand pilot conversions across key sectors.
