Forged postal delivery notices prompt warning
The Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Postal Service warned on Sept. 29 that forged or altered postal delivery notices have been found in some areas. Genuine notices are printed on special thermal paper and peel off easily without leaving residue. The Postal Service said recent forgeries swap a delivery worker\'s contact number with phishing numbers or alter QR codes, making them hard to detect. It urged users to verify delivery status with a post office.

Post office rooftops become drone bases as Japan Post and KDDI test drone hubs
Japan Post and KDDI have started a demonstration project in Suzu, Ishikawa prefecture, using a post office as a drone take-off and landing hub. The companies installed a droneport on the roof of the Suzu post office and will use drones to inspect school routes in normal times and to check damage and residents’ safety during disasters. The demonstration runs until Oct. 4.
