The Ministry of Science and ICT's Postal Service said on Oct. 28 it will operate the "Post Office Shopping Paldo Market" by joining the Korea Grand Festival, which runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 15.
The event was arranged to reduce the burden on consumers' shopping baskets and support local small merchants in expanding sales channels. During the event, Post Office Shopping will run various discount promotions and events, including a discount coupon promotion for local specialties, a "B-grade product promotion," an online traditional market section and a "taste-and-try promotion."
In the online traditional market section, shoppers can buy products using digital Onnuri gift certificates that offer discounts of up to 10 percent when charged. It will also operate the "taste-and-try promotion" on weekdays in the first and second weeks of November, allowing customers to try event products while paying only delivery fees. Customers who write outstanding product reviews will receive Post Office Shopping online gift certificates.
Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Postal Service, said, "Post Office Shopping has also prepared various discount benefits and events that the public can feel," adding, "We will help ease the public's shopping-basket burden, invigorate local small merchants and contribute to a recovery in domestic demand."
