Mythos is reshaping the economics of cybersecurity
Companies that have tried Anthropic’s AI model Mythos for cybersecurity have generally reported positive results, saying it found software vulnerabilities, including long-missed flaws. Palo Alto Networks’ threat intelligence chief said it found more than 20 vulnerabilities in three weeks. The Information reported token use can reach $1 million quickly and potentially several million dollars in weeks, though subsidies covered early tests. Mythos could cost about six times more per token than Opus, but some say efficiency may narrow the overall cost gap.

AI investment spurs growth in servers, PCs and memory, lifting enterprise hardware market
The spread of artificial intelligence is emerging as a new growth driver across the enterprise hardware market, as companies and cloud providers race to build AI infrastructure. Demand for AI servers is lifting results at major IT firms, while storage vendors and PC makers also benefit. Memory makers gain from surging needs for high-bandwidth memory used in AI servers. Concerns that AI would hurt software firms appear limited, as many reposition AI as a growth engine.

Anthropic releases one-month report card for Mythos, says patch process needs overhaul
Anthropic said its Project Glasswing, involving 50 institutions and companies using the Mythos Preview AI model, found more than 10,000 high-risk or critical software vulnerabilities in a month. In a report, it said security progress now depends on how quickly AI-found flaws are verified, disclosed and patched. It shared results from Cloudflare, Mozilla, Microsoft, Oracle and Palo Alto Networks, and warned that long gaps between discovery, patch creation and deployment increase risk.
