Sony is believed to be preparing a new model based on its discontinued flagship WH-1000XM4 headphones. A report said Sony may launch a product called WH-1000XM4C for about $250. The leaked information suggests few changes from the 2020 model, with differences mainly in battery life and available colours. A leaker claimed a Sept. 7 launch and cited euro and pound prices, though the information is not official.

Sony said it has secured the parts it needs to meet its PlayStation 5 sales target for 2026 even as memory prices surge on expanding AI demand. It dismissed concerns that higher memory costs could disrupt console supply and said it will continue stable hardware supply ahead of major year-end releases. Sony also said there is no change to its 2026 hardware profitability plan and it will keep it at the same level as in 2025.
