TikTok says South Korea is starting point for trends, plans $50 million investment and double rewards
TikTok plans to invest more than $50 million in South Korea’s content ecosystem this year, it said at a Seoul event on April 2. The company will expand creator support by doubling rewards for Korean-language content from April and launching additional reward and growth programmes from May. It also plans broader cooperation with professional partners across sports, news and entertainment, including FIFA, KBO, K League, YTN and SBS.

The Korea Media Communications Committee said on Tuesday it will hold a public meeting on March 20 in Seoul to discuss North America World Cup broadcasts and improvements to the universal viewing rights system. The meeting follows growing debate after the Milan Cortina d\'Ampezzo Winter Olympics was aired exclusively on a pay-TV channel. It comes as negotiations among broadcasters over World Cup rights face difficulties.

KT brings Gwanghwamun Square and AI technologies to MWC26
KT set up a K-culture-themed booth at MWC26 in Barcelona on March 2, recreating Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square with landmarks such as the King Sejong statue and Sejong Center. It introduced technologies including Agentic Fabric, Agent Builder and Vision Track, and showcased a robot platform, K RaaS. In its network zone, an AI operator using KT’s model “Mideum” explained AI LAN, liquid-immersion-cooled servers and quantum key technology. The booth also offered AI, AR and sports-related experiences.
